Rev. Cathy Dilts
The Reverend Cathy Dilts began her ministry at St. Paul’s United Church on July
1, 2008. Cathy is grateful to God, and to the people of St. Paul’s, for the
opportunity to share in the vibrant ministry of faith that is already so much a
part of this congregation. Cathy is looking forward to the new opportunities and
challenges that God will set before us as together we seek to grow in faith and
respond to God’s love revealed in Jesus Christ.
Cathy grew up in Burlington. She is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s
Faculty of Mathematics and attended Teacher’s College at the University of
Western Ontario. Following graduation she enjoyed a rewarding career as a high
school teacher with the York Region District School Board.
In 1999 Cathy responded to God’s call to ministry and further study by enrolling
in the Master of Divinity program at Emmanuel College, University of Toronto.
Cathy completed her internship at Walton Memorial United Church in Oakville in
2004 and it was there she discovered her passion for congregational growth and
development. In 2005 Cathy completed her M. Div. and was settled at Islington
United Church where she served as Minister of Congregational Development for
three years.
Cathy brings to ministry an evangelical spirit and an enthusiasm for worship,
outreach and community building. Cathy currently resides with her family (Dave,
Sarah, and Christopher) in Richmond Hill and in her spare time enjoys reading,
going to theater, taking long walks, playing the flute, working with stained
glass, and supporting her spouse and children in their various endeavours.
